I was getting a front right wheel sensor signal low and a signal erratic code so I replaced the sensor. I did not go all the way to the SLABS but did replace the connector under the hood. Cleared the code, drove 200'. three amigos and there break buddy come back on. Same code. I am getting 1085 ohm from the sensor at the new connector and at the pins at the SLABS, so I am pretty sure my wiring is OK. The strange thing is I was getting what looked like a open on the front left and all the rears at the SLABS. I disconnected the front left and it quickly threw a code, plugged it back in and cleared it and it did not come back. I am not a big fan of being a parts changer, but I am at a loss. Could it be the Hub? Sensor not seated right? SLABS? I am leaning towards the sensor maybe needing to be deeper in the hub. If I can't get it to seat deeper I probably will need to go with a new hub, but i don't want to go there if i don't have to. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank You,

 

Replacing the whole hub is probably the easiest way to rectify wheel sensor errors, since the sensor is mounted correctly. It's a pretty straightforward operation. I did my first one recently in under 2 hours, and that cured the problem that had been cropping up since I got the truck. The $65 eBay hubs are perfectly fine.

 

I've had issues with bad sensors, or sensors being damaged during install possibly. Similar to what you are experiencing. I have also had great luck with the ebay hubs, and cheap sensors.

Get yourself a 3/4" breaker bar for the hubs, and get Genuine hub nuts, or just make sure they are also 32mm. The ones I purchase were 36mm, and that just means you cannot get a socket on them by removing the wheel cap, which is a huge deal when trying to get them off, as you can leave the truck on the ground.

 

Why can't I find the $65 hubs on e-bay?
Everything I see is much more expensive. Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms.

I have the "erratic signal on my front left and have replaced the sensor then cleared the code. Drove a month with no warning lights. It was wonderful. Then they came on.

I'm thinking I need a new hub as well.

Did this ever get rectified?
