Default ABS, Traction Control and other Light

I have just bought a 02 disco II, I was pulling into a parking lot and I had three lights on the dash come on I know two of them put as I am new owner I can not remeber what the other one is, I turned the vehicle off and restarted and all was good, I have not been able to reproduce this problem. I have scheduled to take to the shop on Friday, Question what should I make sure they check to make sure this problem if it is a problem gets fixed.

Those three light are famously called "The Three Amigos". Do a search for that at the bottom of the site and you will find tons of info on it. It could be as simple as a messed up sensor.

Don't take it in if the lights are not on. Especially don't take it to a dealer unless you have deep pockets and won't mind them throwing lots of parts at your truck.
Do you have a small shop that has a scanner capable of reading ABS codes, if not fine one.
Are your breaks squeaking and or do you have alot of brake dust on your wheels?

I am taking it to my local indy as they have been good, there is a good amount of brake dust on the fronts and there is a slight squeak in the brakes.

Ijust experiencedthe same problem yesterday, and will take my 04 disco to a local shop today. However, it'sNOT the same exact three amigos. I had the TC and ABS lights on, but instead of the Hill descent light, it's the Brake light that came on. But my handbrake was not engaged at all.

I turned the disco off, and after a few minutes, turned it back on. The 3 lights were now gone.

Also, several hours after the "light" incident, i was at a full stop then began to accelerate. I heard a clunking noise. Which i am assuming is brake-related (full assumption on my part- as i am clueless about).

My brakes have been squeaking all the time, and for about a month now. I have some brake dust, but even if the wheels are clean, they still squeak. Loud.

I will have my mechanic get the codes.

Check your brake fluid level, that is what will turn on that other brake light.
Squeaking brakes/ dust on the wheels will cause the trio to come on, so deal with that before you spend alot of money at the shop.
