Default AC Blower.

So here I am again, after using this forum for "limp home" fix, and head gaskets change. I am here hoping for some insight.

I was out in the snow storm of northern Alabama, pulling people out of the ditch when my blower stopped working. Window freezing up I eased it home. I will note that I had quite a bit of snow built up on the hood which I read can stop up the flow.

Anyways, Ive checked the fuses, and all that are related are fine. Ran the head unit test and it showed no issues. I have yet to pull anything apart given the 3 inches of snow on the ground.

Both the front and the back blowers are not working. I can feel heat coming out, but not forced air.

Where should I start?

Thanks for the help

Thus far,

Check the fan with 12volt blows like there is no tomorrow.

Pulled fuses from 6,7 no power.

Thoughts?

I just had this same issue with my DII with the one up front under the dash on the passenger side. What I did first was purchased another blower thinking that was it, changed them out and it was a no go. So I stepped back and punted, took some wire and put spade plugs on one end and then attached them to the power plug for the blower and the other end to the battery. Blower worked so I was like WTF! So I found the electrical diagrams for DII and started following the path. Started at the fuse box under the hood with the 100amp fuse checked voltage there on top and underneath at the connector had 12.2 volts then followed that wire which on mine is a brown with pink strip to the fuse box inside on drivers side. It feeds the 30amp fuse (#7) in the fuse box, pulled the fuse and checked voltage and had a varying voltage of 5.5-9.3 so I was like well this is my issue. Pulled the fuse panel out and checked the connector coming into it and I had my 12.2 volts. So I came to the conclusion that on the inside of that fuse panel there is a location were that connectors pins are solder has corrosion of some kind which is leading to my non-12 volts. So I pulled that fuse cut the connector that feeds the blower and wired a new circuit from the battery with a 30amp inline fuse (since all the relays are after the power input) and voila I have a blower that works and is still able to be controlled by the head unit.

(Sorry for the rambling)

Mine had a short inside the fuse box too. I did the same repair. I bypassed the fuse box with an inline fuse and it works great.

Well I have it fixed, how I can't explain. I took a jumper wire to test if I powering through the fuse would make it run. I touched the front of number 8 or 9 to the dead fuse of 7 blower side and the blower roars to life and has worked since.

I would guess a short, where I dont know. Hopefully, she keeps singing, if not Ill be bypassing.

Thanks for the thoughts.
