1999 Disco II. A/C fan blower worked for about a week, then stopped, was off for two days, then came back on and worked for another 10 days or so and now has stopped again. The compressor is working fine. I pulled the fuse block out and checked connectivity from F31 and it is live. Pulled the plug from the blower under Passenger side and have 10 - 12v on an analog meter depending on the fan speed selected. Pulled the fan out and hooked 12v directly to it and it runs fine. Put it all back together and still no blower. I am really confused. 12v at the fan should make it run shouldn't it? There are only two connections to fan, via the plug, b/r and w/r I believe they are.
Help?

Added update: I have searched the forum and two possibilities are a relay and the resistor pack. Is there a way to check either one? I have the RAVE manual and am not finding a way to test either one.

After a couple of days if you have no answer than nobody know the answer.

 

Fuse 7 which controls the a/c fan relay has a "known issue" with the circuit board on the fuse block. Fix is to replace the fuse block or run a fused circuit between the wire that gozinta fuse 7 and the wire that gozouta fuse 7 effectively bypassing the circuit board in the fuse block. My guru turned me on to this, he had two trucks in his shop today and did both of them. A/C and heater blower now works like a new one. If I decide to spend the $200+ for a new fuse block, it's a simple issue to pull the fused link and reconnect the wires back into their plugs. Notice I bolded the fused part because bypassing any fuse with a solid wire is stupid.

So, this may sound like a stupid question but, do you take the whole fuse-block out, tap into the wires on both sides of the #7 fuse and link them together with a fused wire from the back of the fuse block? Basically, the bad connection is in the fuse-block itself?
