Default AC/Heater Vent not blowing air

I was hoping someone could help me pinpoint the problem. The air vent on the passenger side closest to the window isn't blowing air...all other vent work fine and blow cold and hot. Is this suggestive of anything in particular or any thoughts on what I should test?

Thanks!

Matt

Someone may have broken the open/ close control
Get a flash light and look up the vent.

Probe with a wire into the vent on the driver's side and measure in how far you can go.

Do the same with the non-working vent.
If there is an obstruction - it is the vent door or vane closed
or there is an obstruction in the vent.

If the control to open / close the vent takes less effort than the one on the working vent - then there is your answer also.

I haven't torn into mine, but on my old Mustang, the hose leading to the vent would sometimes come disconnected. Might check if air is blowing at your feet or out of cracks in the dash somewhere.

Default AC/Heater Vent not blowing air

Thx JFall and SS -- so I probed the vent to the left of the glove box today
and there was an obstruction. I could feel the opening and closing of the vent door with my probe...but no air came out. I then opened the glove box to feel up around the vent from the inside and this plastic piece (the lever arm?) fell out and into the opened glove box. As soon as this happened, I had air from the vent blowing into my face....so it looks like the problem was with the obstruction and nothing more involved. It looks like I might be able to reatch this arm....

Can anyone tell me the best way to pop out the a/c vent?

Here's a pic of the piece that fell out: vent.lever | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
