Default AC low pressure service port

Are the AC service ports on Discovery's (my is a '97) standard? I bought a service kit (Stop Leak and Refrigerant), pulled the cap on the low pressure service port but I can't get the service hose to engage. i.e. lock on. Wondering if LR designed port with unique connectors so as to force service through dealers.

Mine was tough to get on too. You just need to wiggle it and push hard.
