Exclamation Accident...

I was just involved in an accident, other car t-boned me (guess that makes it my fault...). Truck was towed to local yard need to get it back to my place now.

Question: the truck stalled or shut off, not sure. The hazard lights automatically came on. I tried to restart the truck hoping I would be able to drive to the side of the road, but it would not start. I put it in park to wait for the tow truck and then it would not move out of park.

Does anyone know if I will be able to get the truck to start? Is this something that automatically happens if involved in a collision?? Someone said there may be a "reset" button somewhere that will allow the truck to be started again?

Under the hood, passenger side against the firewall, you'll see a black button. Push that button. Start engine. Begin part out (sorry, glad you're apparently well and mostly unscathed).

Exactly. I paid $1800 for her, put new Cooper tires on, new radiator, t-stat, water pump, inlet pipe and a few other minor things. Looks like parting out is in order. Unless I can find someone who wants to make a deal on the whole truck to save me some time & headache...so sad.

So sorry, but as mentioned, glad you are okay.

Do you still want me to code that remote for you?

Will the other persons insurance cover the vehicle? What was the totaled value?

No, going to sell the truck, or part it out if no one wants to buy the whole truck. I will pass along your info to anyone who buys the truck though. What's your best contact? Via your email?

I wish! Apparently I was at fault and I didn't have collision coverage. Dumb I guess but I just figured I only paid $1800 for the truck so didn't want to pay the premium for collision coverage. Feeling the stupidity of that this morning...

I'm sure there is some lawyer out there that could help you out. Usually around here, the guy who gets the front end damaged gets most of the blame as they should have been able to stop in time. But without knowing the specifics, it is speculation. Might be worth a phone call...
Glad you are OK anyhow!!

P.S. if the battery is dead or disconnected, it won't come out of park. there is a interlock on the shifter that won't open unless the brakes are applied.
