The fluid lines do get warm after a drive, that's normal. When I had my problems I changed out the fluid, replaced the filter and even bought a used valve block to swap in. I read some people's posts about having to use "textbook" software to get the system bled and really didn't want to open that can o' worms. I couldn't find parts for the system online so I ended up at the junk yard. That's where I found the sensor I needed.

got home from work and took the truck out for a quick spin around the block to see if the ACE light would light up. it didn't, and i went for a longer drive and still everything was fine and i could hear the ACE system working in the turns. going to get that filter kit for the valve body and change the filter and fluid in the system.

T-rex, when you pulling the filter and loosing some fluid from the system, installed the new one, did you just start up the truck and keep an eye on the reservoir and top it off as needed while it was running?

did you use the filter kits from AB ? ACE / Dynamic Response Service Kit For Discovery II

Yes, when I changed the filter I didn't lose much fluid. I also changed the fluid by a method I read about here. Use a hand pump and remove all the fluid in the reservoir, fill with good fluid, run truck a bit, repeat till the fluid is clear. This avoids having to bleed the system.

All that was good for my truck, but didn't fix the problem for me. Only swapping out the sensor fixed it.

Have you see this? ACE - Active Cornering Enhancement

well got home from church today and the last 500 ft to the garage sounded like i had all sorts of bad bushings in the suspension as i went over bumps with all sorts of clunking sounds. got into the garage and while idling popped the hood and i could here some sort of popping sound or something weird anyways coming from some where. went to the passenger side and it almost sounded like some of the sound was coming from the valve body but i turned off the truck regardless. let it sit for a few hours and in the mean time went to Walmart for some synthetic power steering fluid. its crazy, $7 for a 12oz. bottle. so had to get 4 of those as that was all they had there. then went to the local auto parts store and got two more bottles at $10 and some Lucas power steering additive and the Lucas transmission additive as well. so i got 3 bottles into the ACE system so far. extracted with a turkey baster, fill up, drive around the block, and did that three times. will do it more this week after work. get all 6 bottles into the system. my guess is that small plug at the front of the valve body must have come loose when i was trying to unplug it a few days ago unsuccessfully but maybe got it loose. was able to get it off today and i just pushed it back on. it was not snapping in place though. so had to put some extra care into plugging it back in to make sure it snapped in place.

id have to go look again, but the lower sensor looked like it was riveted to the frame rail?

The sensor just sits in a clip - I popped mine out with a screwdriver. Replacing it took about 10 minutes.

Driving home from work today and the ACE light came on half way home. Plugged in the nanocom and this was the error code that came up.

looks like part number 22, or possibly 20

anyone replace any of these parts before?
