Default ACE pipe Replace or Hydrolic Shop

ACE leaking below Banjo connection. Caught ACE leak early. Removed Serpantine belt. Installed Non-ACE belt to bypass ACE pump. Pulled Fuse 14. Turned on car. Bang. Bars locked. Repair went perfect. Car drives great.

Paid for Front ACE pipe. Rear is out of stock. New ACE pipe parts dont match OME.

Shop wants to lift the body off the rover and replace everything. My pipes are perfect. No corrosion. No rust. Seems like a waste of time and money to replace everything when only the upper front pipe near Banjo is leaking and everything else looks perfect.

I'm reading Hydrolics shop can connect the new hose to the old OME hose. OR it needs a special Hydo union.

Shop says no, It can't handle the pressure. Went to a few shops. They won't fix it because it's land rover.

Can someone help me on this? I just want to connect the pipe I paid $300 for to the old pipe with a union, turn ACE on and drive it.

It's the hose that's leaking? Pulling the body off seems a bit extreme and expensive.

Agree. The leak is inches down from the ACE pump. w Everything else perfect condition. They said if they hydro a connection ...the union won't handle the pressure and blow. I paid $300.00-$350 USD for the front ACE pipe with shipping, import tax cash and paperwork fees was more than twice the cost of the pipe.

Other people on the forums.. older comments ... say they did it. - and it worked It makes no sense to lift the body off. It is extreme. There is also the chance too much can go wrong during that kind of repair.

Almost 2025 .. an am guessing .. not many Rover mechs are willing to do that kind of crazy job ..
