yeah my ace pump bearing is going bad....i really like that system best thing landrover ever design.....

so need some ideas what to do.get a new pump for 600 at AB not going to happen

get a used pump and hope its still good?

maybe it can be rebuilt im not sure?

or just eliminate system all together?

what would you do?

no leaks....just bad bearing sound.clearly coming from ace pump.

i think im just going to delete ace pump for now.ordering non ace serpentine belt from AB
not sure if thats all that needs to be done for that.

My 01 ace pump has made a noise since I have had it... I questioned this same issue several years ago and came to the conclusion of replacing the ace fluid every 20k miles and let it make the noise that most of them made straight from the factory as I have been told here on this forum... conversions from ace to non ace are a real pain I have heard...

Mine is noisy as well, it started out noisy and hasn't gotten any worse. I put heavier fluid in it and the power steering as well and it is still a bit noisy, but better. I would try a junkyard for a used one personally. Don't delete the ACE, you will regret it.

i really dont want to get rid of the ace but pump bearing just seems to going bad
never thought to change the fluid i will try and report back

You are going to remove the $1700 ACE system cause you most likely never serviced it and you won't even get a used pump for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the rest of you, how often have you flushed and serviced your ACE?

but i dont have a clue how to change the ace fluid?
