RE: Added new rover to collection and need help
you can probably get the radio removal keys from Walmart pretty cheap. There should either be some slots (almost a half inch wide) or a hole (about the size a toothpick would fit in) on the face of the radio, if it is a slot you will need the european keys (I would suggest the 3 way set if they have them) and if it is a hole it is most likely a 5 sided allen wrench. Then find a sticker (will most likely have a barcode on it) and get the number off that. I would suggest keeping the radio out when you call in case they need any thing else. I dont think an independent shop will have a reader to tell you what your radio code is (that sounds like an expensive land rover only tool that would never be used!!!)

I just called the knoxville landrover dealership and they gave me the code over the phone after I told them my vin number. Didn't cost a thing and I did it in my underwear!

I try to do most of the mechanical work on my rover in my underwear... its liberating. I have a leopard-print number that I do my mods in, and a leather "pouch" with zipper for oil changes.

I had this same issue when I purchased my disco.
I went to Best Buy car stereo installation place and asked them to pull my radio with their special tools (which cost $20).
They looked at me funny, so I told them I'd give them $5 dollars to pull the radio. Any car stereo installation place will do it. Just don't let them talk you into paying $40 bucks because it's their hourly rate. Then, get the number off of the barcode and try the number before you put the radio back into its slot.
Good luck
