Default Adding OEM parking sensors

Has anyone here ever added OEM parking sensors to an SE? It looks pretty straight forward except for the rear bumper. Do I just drill out the plastic for the sensors or is there another bumper available with the holes?

Bumpers are pretty expensive so you would be better off just drilling out you bumper.

Yes, they are. If there is a seperate bumper and the only difference is that it has simple holes then I will drill them. However if there are other differences, like molded mounting points or brakets or something that would be good to know.

Thanks!

This type of sensor typically just pops into the bumper cover. The Valeo kits I've seen even include the hole saw to drill the bumper. I installed a backup camera connected to a GPS unit in mine, but my wife hasn't gotten comfortable using it. I probably should have gone with the sensors.

By the way, where are you getting them from? Some of the prices I've found were pretty high. The OEM ones are crazy expansive but there are plenty of aftermarket kits avaliable for anywhere from $25 to $50.

I was looking at the aftermarket kits as well. I found a full OEM kit including everything for about $300 which is way expensive, but I do like to keep the OEM feel as much as possible...
