Default Advanced Evap Control

Hi All and Happy New Year,

I have 2 questions.

1.) How do I know if I have Advanced Evap Control by looking at my Vin?

2.) I need to replace O2 sensors, what are our thoughts on non oem, direct fit 40 dollar replacements vs say Bosch? Will the cheapies work?

My rig is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery II 54k miles

Thanks

1) All north american D2 should have advanced evap emissions system. It was the D1 that up to 97 didn't have it and then from mid 97 on they did have it.

2) The Bosch direct replacements have been noted by some to be the exact same land rover part as what you'd get in a white box with a green oval.

All DII's are AEVAP, yes the cheap O2's will work but they wont last.
Amazon.com has the best price on O2's.
If you are getting O2 codes before replacing them do a tune up, 95% of O2 codes are due to the need of a tune up.

Thanks Jafir and Spike. You made up my mind (going with the Bosch).
So far I have changed the Plugs with Bosch Plat 4s with Kingstone 8mm Wires and a new Bosch Maf. I keep getting the dreaded P1174,P1171 and P0171 and P0174. I know it can be a possible Vacuum leak but I've sprayed carb cleaner everywhere to no avail. Any suggestions?

Does your new maf have matching parts number with your original maf, if not, that is your problem.
