Adventures of Irontite and the Cracked Block
#122
30,000 Mile Update
Down goes Frazier...
So, seems like the head gasket popped.
Details here: P306 = External HG leak? - DiscoWeb Message Boards
Note that this is the opposite bank of the original problem, so I assume it is entirely unrelated to the Irontite.
Probable course of action is to put a new gasket in the passenger side, re-torque the drivers side and cross fingers.

Probable final update
The block thread appears to have popped.
Tried to re-torque starting with that #1 stud. Got to almost 50 ft/lbs and then it just started turning, and turning, and turning...
Only thing happening was the stud being pulled up through the head.
Probably gonna part it out unless I can get a decent # from a craigslist buyer.

Tried to tighten, and when it got to about 45, it lost all torque and wouldnt regain it.
After more turns, the stud was clearly coming up out of the head.
