Okay, so you do not make the same mistake I did. When you change to a 4.0 block you need to make sure you change some various things that are different widths. I did not change my spacer on the flywheel plate which is 4mm difference and it burned my transmission front pump. A very costly mistake. If you want to PM me when you start this I will help you with what to look for.

I have a horror story as well. We bought a 04 with the 4.6 that had 94k on it when we bought it. The dealership where we bought it, a local Ford dealership, advised us to purchase a warranty. They told us to buy a good one, so we went with Ford ESP. Good thing we did. Within 45 days and 500 mi, we had back to the dealer with a blown engine. Warranty folks were a little put out, but the dealership went to bat for us. The 2k warranty was worth a 10k engine. Took about 5 weeks to get the engine from Atlantic British (Roverparts.com) but it was worth it. If you dont have a warranty..get rid of it.
