Default aftermarket warranties....miami/south beach independent mechanic

i've got an 04 SE and thewarranty ends in aug. is there any aftermarket warranties out there that anyone would recommend. warranties thru the dealer are outragously expensive (as expected). also, would you guys recommend getting an extension on the warranty or play devils roulette and hope for the best? thanks for your help. oh yeah, relocating to miami beach from socal. does anyone know a reliable rover mechanic in the area? thanks.

The dealer warranty is the safest and best, yes you will pay for it, aftermwaket warranties are few and far between and don't pay well.

Save your money, most aftermarket warrenties are a joke.
Due yourself a favor and open a Money Market account.
Do a search on here and you will find information about warenties.
But most are a waste of money.

If you own a newer Disco, get a warranty for as long as you can. I extended mine to 75000 miles through Carmax for about $1300 when I bought it two years ago and to date they have payed more than $15000 (yes three zeros) on minor and major items. Couple items were Misc oil leaks and crank sensor $3500, engine replacement last month somewhere around $8000, and of course door locks and window tracks $$$$$$.

Read all the fine print from the Warranty company and make sure it will work for you.

Also on extended warranties, track and keep records of all work done and oil changes even if you do them yourself.

If anyone knows of a Money Market Account with that kind of return, I'm in.

Wow, sounds like you go a good warrenty and a bad trk.
You are not going to make $15,000 in 5 years on a money market account, that being said most people dont spend that much on repairs anyway.
I have a '97 with 173,000 miles on it and I spent $600 in repairs in the last 12 months. Minor leaks I can deal with, I do most repairs myself, I take care of my trk but I also realize that it is just a trk, nothing more than a machine that can be repaired/replaced.
