Nice! Wonder if they'd be cheaper @ 10% off from them or @ 20% off from Advance Autos website.

$25 off orders over $70

Default Best way to depressurize rear air bags?

I got the arnott bags and was looking in rave and it suggest to depressurize using test book. Is there another way to do this, and how do you know if its been depressurized enough?

Thx

Matt

Crawl under the driver's side of the truck, right under the driver's door, with a big flat head screwdriver and a 10mm wrench. You'll see a black plastic box. Use the screwdriver to undo the two fasteners and remove the cover.

At the front of the compressor assembly (the part closest to the front) you should see three black air lines going into a block that are held on by brass fittings. It should look like this:

What you want to do is use the 10mm to loosen, but not remove, the two outside fittings.

If you take them out, it will be a bugger to get them back into place and they may not seal. Leave the middle fitting alone. Just loosen the left and right fittings. You'll hear the air start to hiss out and eventually the air springs will depressurize.

Since I knew that I was going to throw out my old airbags. I just kept a door open to prevent the SLS from trying to level the DII. I poked a hold in the air bag with an utility knife.

If you want to save your old airbags do what wreckdiver said to do.

Default Air bags depressurize

Thanks, guys. I like the puncture with a knife approach -- sometimes there is an obvious solution saring right at you. Though, wrekdriver, i liked your write up and will save up to do that lift with the airsprings....didnt think spacers could cost that much but if they are precisley machined that would make all the difference.

Thanks again,

Matt

Thanks for looking!

Keep in mind the spacers I used are much more expensive than the ones I recommended. If you order the ToddCo kit from Lucky8, you'd only pay $118.

The reason I did mine like this is I kept one of the springs as a spare in case of a puncture. That way, I can fit a new one when I'm on the trail if I have to.
