Default Air conditioning air flow is also coming out of foot well vents. How to close those?

I've never had very good AC air flow on my SE. My now sold SE7 moved a lot more air through the AC vents. I noticed yesterday that it is also blowing air out of the footwell vents when in the Auto AC mode. Guessing I have an air flow distribution flap that is not working as it should.

Anyone experienced this? Is there a known fix?

Auto AC mode chooses where air comes out. If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to take it off auto.

Chances are, however, that your issue is related to a worn blower motor rather than an air flow distribution flap.

Yeah, even when I manually select all the air to be blown through the dash level A/C vents,....it still blows mostly through the footwell vents,...this was not the case on my prior Disco 2.

Okay, we can work with that. Run an AC diagnostic by holding the auto and air distribution buttons and turning the ignition on. If the distribution servo is seized, you'll get a 33 code.

Or the foam on all the flapper door seals is rotted away. Stuff rags in the floor vents and see where it comes out

OK,...pressed "Auto" and the air distribution buttons, then turned key to on. After a few seconds, I had "FC"on the left side of the climate control panel and "00" on the right side of the panel,...they were both flashing in unison. Does the FC = Fault Code? and "00" equals,.....no code?

Indeed it does. It's still possible that the actuator arm came off, but the motors should work.

Where is that servo located and how do I get to it?

The air distribution servo is on the right side of the heater assembly, and can be accessed by taking out the glovebox. Refer to page 80-19 from the RAVE manual.

If you have heat and you have cold then you have no reason to address anything with the heater core. The AC runs full cold and your heat runs full hot. It is blend motors/directional flaps that control the temp and where it comes out.
