Default Air Intake Connector

The intake connector from Cars 4x4 is flawed.

Both metal brackets always pop out and fall into the air filter box. The rubber is too thin and flexes inward from the suction. Think of it as the engine having asthma. Or a a collapsed straw. I purchased the old intake connector and reinforced it. My engine temps are down 3 degrees. Running at 183-185 highway now. I only changed the air intake tube.

I think a 3D printer can easily make a waterproof air intake connecter that is solid and allows for high flow from the snorkel. OR they could improve this product. Sorry but the rubber collapses.

Thats why I've just used 3.5 silicone intake tubing as a replacement. I've only seen the Carrs4x4 intake tube collapse on 4.6L's.

It's been straining my air intake for years before I noticed it. Hope there isn't any damage. Might work as a waterproof cover over something. But not by itself. How did you get yours to mold to shape?
