The cowl vent intake is known to leak if the seal on it wears out and crumbles with age. You will have to remove the A-pillar trims and the wiper cowl to access it. Remove the HVAC intake and clean and seal it up against the body again and you should be good to go.

Actually it is simply a design flaw, with age everything loosens up and the air intake is poorly protected from water entrance. I ran a bead if silicone along the top of the rubber seal, corrected the cracks, and cleared the drains everything is fine until we get heavy rain then water gets in.

That's my next step is to buy that exact cowl.
