Spike, that was the cruelest thing I think I have ever heard you say to a D2 owner. They are no more similiar then a Ford and a Chevy, actually considered to be the biggest piece of S--T Rover ever built.

Come on Mike, when all the systems are working properly they are great. But you are right, they are completely different vehicles. That is why I have a D1 and a P38, they each work differently.

The aftermarket could help him if he wanted bags at all four wheel but I am sure it would be expensive, it probably would be as intuitive as the Rover set up either.

Don't think you can mount the handles to the A pillars, I believe they pull (snap) right off when I removed them to remove headliner. Won't take the weight.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, it was not my plan to hijack the thread. The good news is I can get in and out now with out and modifications. I just put new tires on those big wheels so I do not think I will be switching any time soon. I may try to hunt down another set of smaller wheels for winter tires, I live in Madison WI and the winters have been brutal lately.
