Default Air suspension - air pump

Well this is my first disco and the rear are suspension does nothing and the button does nothing? what are some problems associated with the electrical part or the air pump part of this suspension set up. I'm somewhat experienced in auto mechanics being previous jeep owner and working on that, so what can I look for and tweek to try and get this to do something... or anything. I haven't pulled anything appart yet, I was thinking about doing that tonight so any suggestions on what to look for what I do that?

The air compressor on these almost never fails, start with the air bags and height sensors.

Or you can do yourself a huge favor and save all the hassle and do this.

The air compressor will only run if the engine is running and all the doors are closed.

With a water bottle full of soapy water spray all around the SLS and look for leaks, if you get bubbles you have a leak.
If the height sensors are bad the compressor will think the truck is already level and not turn on the compressor.

Haha yeah I'd like to do the conversion but I don't really have the cash right now and I'm feelin the need to work on something so thought I'd see if I could figure this thing out. So does this pump make any sound or anything that will tell me if it's working? and how do I tell if the sensors are bad or not?

Yes the pump will make a sound, it will sound like a little air compressor.
Check the fuse'sess'''sss's to the SLS and pray its not a bad compressor.

Thinkin when I do a conversion I'll just go ahead and lift it. Another reason to put that off till I have more cash.

If you want some help with this, send me you number and I'll call you.
Most will tell you to do a conversion but if you do, it will never ride the same again.

ok... so i pulled it apart tonight and found something very interesting. through a series of test found that the pump works just fine. but... some previous owner has taken the hoses to the rear air bags and unhooked them. instead they took a different hose and filling valve(like on a car tire or bicycle) and put it under the bumper. so I turned my compressor on in the garage and thought i'd put it to that filler. well sure enough it stated to lift the rear end. but since i don't know a lot about rover I have some questions.

1.) This set up isn't stock is it?

2.) when did they start doing the air bags inside the coil springs?

3.) since this is already done, has anyone coverted this compressor to be some sort of onboard air?
