From what I have been told the air compressor for the SLS is not strong enough to fill a tire or a portable air tank or to run a air locker for the diff.

You can hook your air hoses back up.

well mine isn't sitting on the bumps stops.... thats odd that it's powerful enough till lift the rear end of the car but not powerful enough to fill a tank or tire...

From what you describe, it looks like the previous owner, did just what they explain in the Haynes Extreme LR Discovery Manual, pages 91-93. It sounds like a nice setup, for the times that you need the extra support for hauling. They do caution that the unit should be kept at a min. of 5 PSI when you're not hauling, so as to keep the bags from chaffing. It does seem a shame though, to have the disconnected SLS compressor, not available to use for other things like filling an air tank, tires, etc...
