Default Alarm ?

Hi I am new here and I looked at a 2000 Discovery the other day and it had 3 different keys but none had a remote on them and the ignition lock had been changed out and not re keyed?
I can have it re keyed no problem, but my main question is was a alarm a option that year and if so where is the brain located?

Yes there will be an alarm. It is part of the Body Control Unit, which also handles a lot of other functions. Factory manuals in download below, called the RAVE. Include wiring diagrams in color. BCU is behind glove box. But read up on it because it runs lots of things, you can't just ****** it out.

What are you planning to do with the BCU?
I would stay away from it and tell us exactly what you want to accomplish?
