Default alarm in low?

I dropped my 99 into low just for fun and to make sure that it still worked. I then dropped into 1st gear and slowly rolled down a hill around the corner. After a block or so an alarm of some sort started going off. Never heard it before. Anyone have an idea what it was? thanks Phil 99 Discovery I Auto

I had it in low (not locked, ie lever to the right side) and 1st gear. It seemed to be functioning fine for 60 seconds or so and then the alarm went off. Even after the alarm went off, the truck seemed to work fine. After the alarm went off, I put it back in high and went home in D, moved into 1, 2, 3 just to make sure everything was fine. The Owner's manual talks of an alarm if in neutral as I recall. Phil

I am not aware of any alarm that Rover installed except for when you don't have the t/case alarm.

If you don't have the transfer case all the way in gear it will let you know with the alarm.
Most times you can just push the shifter because its not all the way in gear and it will stop.

T-case alarm. Fiddle with the shifter next time it does it.

As always, you guys are the best! I will try it tomorrow and see if it sounds the alarm again. If so, I will make double sure that it is all the way in gear. Thanks again. Phil
