Default Almost ready for Lift and tires!

So guys, ive been slowly tweaking and trimming the rover, Getting her ready for the 2" lift and 265/75/16s So far ive gotten the front plastic air dam Removed, both bumper caps in front are gone... LOOKS BAD but its all i could do. And ive got the lift kit waiting to be installed... What else should i do to make sure these tires fit? I heard about trimming the rear fenders? and messing with steering stops?!

BTW i plan on putting some diamond plate to cover the front where the bumper caps used to be... That bracket look is not for the rover.

Why dont you just cut the bumper end caps its easy to do and it doesnt look bad. Also you might want to get longer brake lines. As far as trimming your fenders and quarter panels you might want to wait till you get the lift and tires under it to see how everything fits the same with the steering stops. Just take some pb blaster to everything and let it soak for a while. It makes things a hell of a lot easier when you go lift it. And from past experiance a 2" on a D1 took me about an hour to do so its a pretty easy deal.

Don't do any more till you actually have the tire and lift completed. Depending on what spring #'s you ordered, the truck may or may not need any more cutting.

With 265/75R16s you will need to trim the rear fenders a little to keep them from rubbing. I didn't run mine with 265s so I don't know if you'll have issues up front but my 245s rubbed in the rear when the suspension flexed so I know you'll have problems with the larger tire.

I have a to agree with Long Haul, just cut the bottom of the factory end caps and put them back on. I've posted pictures of my truck with the end caps cut and no one I talked to said it looked bad.

I'm running 265/75/16 with a 2" ome lift, and no trimming anywhere. I did use an aftermarket front winch bumper, but never trimmed or cut anything and I've never rubbed. Hope this helps.

yeah, the D2's will clear 265/75's with no trimming on a 2" lift.

the D1's however require trimming the rear fender.

Guess I should read the entire post before commenting. My mistake.
