'01 D2

Hey all! After 2 years on blocks, I have just a few more things to go until my Disco is ready for the road. The next step is upgrading the audio. I'm a DIY guy, and not totally unfamiliar with audio setups. That said, I was in the process of ordering the above Alpine HU through Critchfield, but they said it wasn't compatible with my truck; it was too deep. SonicElectronics says it is. The more research I do, the more conflict I'm seeing.

Has anyone installed this particular HU in their D2? Also, anything I should be aware of in the upgrade?
