Default Am I screwed?

Come to find out, the 2003 Disco II that I recently purchased falls in the VIN range of the TSB TA03-1201, issued on March 14, 2003, noting oil pump failures. See link below.

http://www.landroverresource.com/docs/lrna_tsb.pdf

According to the TSB, the only way to fix this defect is by having a new engine installed. Local LR dealer who has serviced my newly acquired Landy from the original owner since day one, shows that no new engine nor oil pump has ever been replaced.

So, am I screwed? To spoof on a popular movie line...."dead Rover running" (dead man walking).
Am I now driving a ticking time bomb?
Do I have any recourse?
Any class-action suits that I can join to get this problem fixed?
Too late to take it up with the dealer?
Any home-brew precautions?

If I have any piece of mind - and knowing that Disco's have had their fair share of reliability issues - I purchased a 4 year, 48k near bumper-to bumper warranty on the Landy (CNA National Warranty) one day after I purchased it (private sale, with 69k miles). So I suppose I have this time line to figure out if the oil pump will give way and cross my fingers that the extended warranty will cover the engine. There is specific language in the contract that states oil pumps are covered.

I'm happy to post my exact VIN number for authentication here on this site, but a little leary to do so...not sure why.

Any thoughts on where to go from here?
Any thoughts from anyone on what to do?

Thanks,
gbob

I've heard that all of the LRs with the "bad oil pump" numbers have been changed by now.

The ones that were bad failed early. Not all were bad, just some in that VIN range. To make you sleep better, do a mechanical oil gauge PSI test.

All of the class action law suits are done and over.
You're on your own.
It would have blown up by now.
Dont worry about it, you're fine.
