Default Android Auto HUD

Hey guys, I wanted to add Android Auto to my D2 but keep the stock radio. The aftermarket stuff looks a little out of place, especially with my D1 aux switches. I came up with a mount for the
Eonon 10.26 Eonon 10.26" P4
head unit that sits on the dash where the tray goes and replaces the vents.

The unit uses a USB-C charger, but not a standard one that I could figure out. I tried a variety of high-output automotive 5V power supplies but couldn't get any of them to work past the boot screen. I'm thinking it's some kind of weird inrush current issue or something similar. Anyways, I used a really
really janky cigarette lighter to hard wire really janky cigarette lighter to hard wire
adapter to get it wired into the car.

A GROM Audio adapter supports the Bluetooth interface. Everything works great.

Next step is to build a housing for an Olympus directional microphone in the A pillar near the headliner, and then wire up my SEL button to do the Gemini/OK Google stuff.

Model is available here.

LMK if there are any questions!

E

It looks nice. I don't think I could get rid of those windshield vents in my part of the world.

The vents are still there, they're just part of the housing.

Nice. I have a similar Apple CarPlay screen that I use. I just have it on the windshield with the suction cup attachment currently, but like the housing you built. I'm assuming that it is 3d printed? Can you share the design?
