Default Annoying dash lights

I have a '99 Disco II and have a bad ABS shuttle valve. I think thats what it is. The dealer wants about $2000 to fix it, so I am not going to do the work. Does anyone know of a way to turn off the dash lights that come one from time to time. I am hoping they are controlled by a single fuse. I do not want to take off the dash and take out the lights if i do not have to.

Scott,

I have some good news for you! LRNA has just introduced a shuttle valve repair kit. $60 approx. Very easy to do. First check your grounds/earths behind LF headlamp. If clean and tight, buy the kit. You will need to remove the ABS modulator from the vehicle and install the new switches.

The actual statement from the dealer is a stuck shuttle vlave. Will this kit do anything for that as far as you know?

If there is some question about what is causing the problem, if you haven't done a brake flush in the last 30K, you might want to try this. Old brake fluid will burn causing many brake related problems.

The kit works only when one of the switches are actually bad most of the time the solenoid actuater is the problem (spool valve) is stuck or sticks. Ive put 12 switch sets in 2 worked with any lenght of time. Rover also permits a certain amount of leakage from the spool area, so its kind of a short term fix. I have a factory rover valve assembly (not rebuilt) in a vacume packed rover carton ill let go for 500. You wont need to return to the dealer again for testbook after bleeding the brakes becuase the interim module (outstation) will be new. And you wont be complaining about the same problem 6 months from now either>>>>

I spoke to my dealer - Land Rover Dallas - and they told me this fix works about 20-25% of the time. The reason is because the valve switch usually becomes faulty as there is a leak in the seal or somewhere else in the modulator unit. They say the unit will only leak over the shuttle valve again and within days you are back to square one.

Can anyone tell me the success ratio of this repair? My dealer says Land ROver issued this fix but their testing was under controlled conditions and didnt account for many of the problems customers were having.

Any help would be appreciated....
