Has anyone tried the EBC Performance kit with the Greenstuff pads?
I was thinking of just using the Brimbo Rotors and Akebono pads.

 

I didn't see an advantage in performance rotors (drilled and/or slotted) for use on an off-roader. The holes are there to vent gases from the brake pads when braking, but newer pads reduce the amount of gases, and it mainly affects frequent high speed braking (more like racing). Also, the holes can catch material when driving through mud, gravel and plants.

Boy, the rotors are about 50% more expensive than last year, when I did my brake job.

 

EBC pads work very well.....do a complete fluid flush and make sure your calipers/pistons slide like they should too.

I can verify the slotted and drilled rotors do make a significant difference in dry as well as wet braking. I have had them on the disco as well as on my Camaro and motorcycles. The Disco has basically undersized brakes for the weight. The physics likely have to do with gases and heat reduction at the pad/disc interface. Most discos are not driven off-road primarily, however drilled and slotted rotors will rapidly wear out pads in muddy conditions (I used to race off-road motorcycles, we would switch to solid rotors for muddy conditions).
