Default Another Cooling Annoyance

So I have just been having a small drip coming from the radiator end cap/return line for the coolant tank. I pressure tested the system with no luck. Replaced the factory clamps. So today I went to lowes for supplies and come back to a drip of coolant. Tired of this stumping me I pull the upper shroud back off and find a pin hole leak in the radiator end cap.

Below is a video of the leak in question.

I'd try ruff it up with sandpaper and use some type of plastic repair to seal it. There are some amazing products out there today. At least it could get you buy until you order a new one and have time to put it in.

Good luck!!

sounds like the classic wrong screw (too long,) or not using a washer, in the shroud poked a hole in the plastic end cap.

Known stupid issue.

I temp fixed mine with RTV down the hole and the correct screw in on top. no issues since, though not a permanent fix it will get you by till you get a new rad.

I've been getting by for a year now on that fix, but ultimately a new rad is the fix, and not putting the wrong screw in there again.

There is no repair for that leak. Once the plastic becomes brittle from heat and age, your only fix is to replace the radiator and at the same time install a new 180 degree t/stat. Make sure to flush the system and use only distilled water and any coolant other then Dexcool.
