Another One Bites the Dust ...
What appears to be a nice, black, 7-seat 2003 DII went on the yard at LKQ Charlotte today. From the few pics the body is straight. Heck, even the front bumper looks pristine. Probably an engine problem the owner was not able or willing to deal with. It's a shame when what appears to be a perfectly fixable DII goes to the crusher. I don't have a place for it; otherwise I might try to buy it and save it. Oh well ... You can see it at the link below. Just type Rover in the search box.

Yeah my friend and I attacked a 98 D1 at a LKQ type yard over the weekend that was having a 50% off everything sale for Labor Day Weekend. It was a darn clean 98 that looked like they drove it in there and just parked it. My friend needed the entire CPS harness as his had been cut/modified (we think that is a lot of his issues with it running funky), he also grabbed the CPS, some D2 headlights, and a few other misc things. My main goal was the front timing cover! I didn't want to pay 300-400.00 for a new one. I was able to get it off and I only paid 10.00 for it!!!!!
One of the LKQ in Houston also got a very clean 03 Black D2 that once again looked like someone just drove it in there and parked it. It is sad to see so many clean vehicles go to LR Heaven so early. The 98 D1 I got the front timing cover off of was there for cooling issues. I don't think the HG's were blown, but the water pump had about 2inches of wobble to it, the timing cover was leaking externally at both water jackets, and the radiator had white traces where it was leaking. I think they couldn't figure out why it was running hot & just sold it for cheap.

LKQ 2003 Labor Day
You must be there lucky person to get the headlights, grill, back bumper and step cover.
I did get the front bumper and the rotary coupler today. I did figure out how to unplug it. Just got to go deeper into the steering column for the two connections. (on the rotary couple itself it does look like it has connections but that is where I was wrong.
Anyway, nice parts today with the 40% discount as a nice add on.

They stab holes in the oil pan, transmission pan, and fuel tank. I've seen some with the keys still inside them at LKQ. If you were able to buy anything from LKQ it would be be strictly for parts only. As mentioned above Copart would be a better idea for an entire vehicle or good old CL/FB Marketplace.
