Another reason to hate the ObamaNation...
I recently noticed a '99 DII sitting in a salvage yard I pass on the way to work. It took me a couple of days, but I got around to calling the yard to find out what good parts might be available. Imagine my HORROR and DISGUST to find this apparently perfect DII (there was no visible damage) had been CRUSHED as a 'Cash for Clunkers'.
Who in their right mind would classify a perfectly good LR as a clunker?!
The mind boggles and the stomach turns!! One has to wonder how many other poor Discos met this end and what the long term impact will be on decent salvage parts.

Not everyone loves Land Rovers, more people buy them just to drive than those who want to make love to them.
ITS JUST A TRUCK!!
Crush it, keep at least 50 American's employed and move on.

even the best machines hit a rough patch or two!! I will say this forthe broncos , they look sharp and fast! If they win out and don't get a shot at the title then there isn't a god.
First, I never said it was Bush's fault, just that Bush had the same idea and we didn't hear much about it.
Cash for Clunkers was a stupid idea and a waste. It never helps the economy to throw out usable resources and make/buy new.
It didn't even really help the auto industry. Very few net new sales were made, just people who were going to buy put off buying until the program started, and people who were planning to buy later bought a little sooner.
It was like taking a 4' rope, cutting off a foot and tying it to the other end to make a longer rope.

Let's see...my rover is an 02....so we are in year 8 of the rough patch. I'm not a hater, just a hater of constant maintenance. That's why I have a 69 chevy c/20. It's supposed to be my constant headache.
somehow this discussion reminded me of this commercial
