Well, had the block in our 2004 HSE resleeved and are getting ready to start the rebuild.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what brand of bearings and rings we should use?

 

If you run a search you should find a post with everything gou want to know about bearings and rings. Its about 2 month old the guy spent days compparing rings and bearings, it a good post if you find it, he put a lot of work into it.

 

I don't have any personal experience other than I bought a set of stock main bearings once, in a land rover box, and they were surprisingly cheap. I don't know if it was some sort of close-out or what, but I think they were less than $40 at the time. It turns out I didn't need them and I passed them on to someone else.
