I have an 02 Discovery and am going to schnge the fluid in the front and rear diffs, transfer case, and transmission. I notice there are some O rings on the fill plugs on the axles and on the drain and fill on the tranny.

Can someone tell me what size these are? Can I pick thses up at the local parts shop or will I need to get them from the Rover Dealer?

 

I have been changing the fluids on my truck going on 5 years, doing it yearly and never changed any of the rings or seals, if any thing I might reverse the ring but thats all Do you still have the plastic fill plugs on the fill holes of your diffs, if so you might want to replace them with the solid brass replacements.
Don't forget to do your power steering and brake fluids also. You might also want to consider adding a bottle of Lucas tranny additive to your tranny and a botle of Lucas power steering fluid to keep your pump quite and the leaks down.

Thanks. I ordered the brass plugs already. I just wondered the sizes on the rings, because I'd like to get a few - just in case. Be kind of hard to drive to the store then. Live about 10 miles from the nearest parts store.

Well the brass plugs come with a rubber o-ring, the drain plugs on the difs are cast and don't have a washer and I don't know the size ring for the oil drain plug or the tranny, Sorry.
