If it did, and I'm not saying it won't, there would be some other issues. The stock ECU uses all the computing power to vary the injector squirt and the timing (individually by cylinder) to maintain a pre-determined fuel to air ratio. So it would be working against you, except in WOT conditions. If all this power is suddenly dumped upon the power train, that stock front prop shaft will split all the sooner, and spear a hole in the tranny. It is not like Rover has to build for six different engine variations in a model. And you can be sure they did not over spec anything, the bean counters wanted enough left over for an alarm system... and the rpm limiter and speed limiter that dials back performance to prevent excess velocity.

Lower end parts of engine won't be up to the task either, for long.

Can you use different injectors? Yes. Custom chip set (not that $65 one) - yes. Do some people build up Rover engines? Yes, and sometimes to stuff into something small, like a TR7. See The Wedge Shop - Fast. British. Reliable and "RPi Engineering - Specialised Rover Engines" .

IMHO a $179 turbo is not likely to produce the desired reliable results. It is a 4500 pound tea kettle you are trying to push down the road. It is not going to be a CRX with Integra motor and nitrous. Or a ninja bike.

I think the D2 4.6 would explode if you put that kind of power through it.

The text in the ad was clearly written by someone who did not benefit from having English as a first language.
