Default Any way to "prevent/predict" oil pump failure?

I was not sure how to word the question. Quite simply, I have Rotella 15W-40 oil and no leaks. Is there anything I can do, other than cross my fingers and pray, to know if my oil pump is at risk of exploding, like I've read can happen without warning?

I don't plan to pull the cover just to look and see, so wanted to ask if any preventative measures exist?

My rule of thumb is to replace it at least every 75k to be safe. If you're at 165, just replace it. No real way to predict, only to prevent. Also, there was only a recall on certain 03 models, but the truth is that they all suffer from the oil pump issue.

Having an actual oil pressure gauge would be the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the offer. I need to do some research but will surely look you up if I go that route.

I used this a handful of times, still like brand new. 2 months old, not a scratch. Looking to trade for Ultra Gauge or Glow Shift electric oil pressure gauge and sandwich plate kit.

Best advice I can give is if the front cover ever comes off replace it. Honestly the cost difference in the kit is small enough that it just makes sense to do it while you are in there.
