Cool Anybody have "connections" with shipping companies?

Just weighing out all my options at the moment. Wondering if anyone here works for or has any special connections with those vehicle transport companies. Trying to get my Disco transported up to Seward Alaska for the lowest possible price. Current estimate I got was about $3,500 and it would take two weeks. Been wondering if I couldn't find anything better or maybe even put my vehicle title up as collateral... until I can pay the sum back. I'm also looking into title loans.... Has anyone ever used the title loan services for extra cash?

Any constructive suggestions welcome.

On a side note I noticed just how rare yet EXPENSIVE Rovers sell for up there:
2000 D2 $7,995 http://anchorage.craigslist.org/ctd/3652677734.html
2001 Range Rover $10,495 http://anchorage.craigslist.org/cto/3671005909.html
2000 D2 $5537 http://fairbanks.craigslist.org/ctd/3706169799.html
2003 D2 $8,500 http://juneau.craigslist.org/cto/3706176382.html

I'm confused. Sounds like you have two different thoughts going on.

Thought One: You found a buyer in Alaska and you're trying to ship it to the seller and looking for the cheapest transport option??

Thought Two: You need cash and are looking to Pawn your DII? I would stay away from those title loans. I don't know much about them fortunately, never had to use their service. They are there for a reason and it's NOT to help you. You follow?

Title loan services are in business for one thing and one thing only to wait for you to be late with a payment so they can take ownership of your vehicle and resell it. It is big business these day they can sometimes they can sell the same vehicle 4 & 5 in a year, keep all the down payments and any payments that were made while still owning the vehicle

Why not? You have a Rover, go exploring and see things that you have not, and wont ever see again. Set a week aside and explore the country on your way up there.

And the most fun.

As for the title pawn, it is basically a very, very expensive loan on the vehicle, and if they knew you were taking their collateral to Alaska they probably would not make the loan, or call it immediately. One of the largest title pawn operations is based right here in Savannah, with over 700 offices in multiple states under several brand names. They add one office a day on average. TitleMax.

No mention of selling my vehicle or any buyers here buddy. Im going to Alaska in May for a 4month+ long work opportunity and Id like to bring my Disco with me. Looking for the cheapest way to do so. Maybe use a title loan to borrow the needed money to pay to have my Disco shipped up there ahead of me. Driving it through Canada and through part of Alaska would cost at least $3,500 in gas. I hear gas is way more $$$ up there plus taxes in Canada are notorious.

Also would never attempt a long trip like that with my Disco until I got the entire cooling system updated with new thermostat , hoses, scan gauge etc. Havnt had any cooling issues yet but I have 133 on the clock.
