Anybody use Synthetic oil?
I use the Mobil 5W40 truck & Suv but not for summer.
For summer I use the what is now called Mobil One Extended Performance 10W40.
They say it good for 15,000 miles I go 5,000.
On the old style motor that we have you can get a lot of build up on the
inside and oiling was not a high point for this V8.
You could do with less if you only keep a vehicle for a few years.

Synthetic oil. YES it is the only way to go. I use it in every thing I own. I use it in anything that has moving parts and I change it often. Synthetic oil is not susposed to brake down like other oils, but I am sure it gets just as dirty. I am not sure if it matters much which one you use. Synthetic is the only way to go if you care about your toys.

Thanks I appreciate the responses. I went to get some Power steering fluid yesterday cause i was sitting on the minimum reading with the truck off. In the manual it said there would be 2-caps mine only has 1 but it is a huge canister so I assume it is for the ACE[&:] Also it said to use Texaco PAS(Power Assist) I guess...and it should be amber in color. We looked for the cross ref @ Auto Zone and no cross ref for that or the GM one mentioned....Does it really matter?
I'm not sure on the power steering fluid the dealer may be
your best bet. The Disco I uses Dex-ATF for the power steering.
I have a VW and nothing is normal on it, dealer fluid on
power steering.
