Anyone ever dyed the leather piping?
I recently bought an '04 Disco with the beige interior. The piping is not charcoal in color like so many other discos I've seen. Anyone ever dyed the plain Jane beige piping to match the factory charcoal piping? Assuming it is possible, I'm interested in doing it since it just looks like the car has more character that way. Alternatively, anyone have any idea how much this would cost to have done at a shop? Thanks!

Edit: Just saw your other thread. So it's an SE. Possible that the seats were swapped at some point?
I know that this is a Benz website, but has a lot of valuable resources. They have really good leather repair and dye kits, I hear that they work very well.

S models had "leatherette" seats. In the other thread he says its an SE though so they should be leather.
I would say hold your horses for a while and see how much money you need to spend on higher priority maintenance items first... Check the 60k mile sticky and do that unless you have documents proving they've recently been done. And don't overlook the front driveshaft and cooling system.
Most folks getting one of these need to do at least most of that list to get it up to baseline condition. Seat piping is a luxury for when you have everything else in order and the significant other will still allow you to spend more money on it.

The D2 might be an SE, but if the seats are a solid color without colored piping they are not leather, but vinyl or as mentioned above LR called it "leatherette". If so your SE has had replacement seats installed from an S model.
If you just gotta have colored piping you'd be better off finding leather seats out of an SE/HSE
