Default Anyone have a Nanocom in Denver?

Hey folks, my P38 has stopped turning over and I just replaced the starter motor. But it's still not turning. Does anyone have a Nanocom - I have a feeling the immobilizer has kicked in and the ECU needs to sync with the BeCM.

Would really appreciate the help - this pain the *** beauty is my daily driver!

I have a Nanocom, but I only have the D2 access. Not sure what the license costs to access the P38 stuff, but probably not worth it to do for someone else's unit. I'd be happy to help if it was worth it to you tho. Good Luck!

If you’re immobilized due to improper locking sequence (and you don’t have a working fob), you may need to try the EKA (emergency key access) code. The fellow on the above video is in the UK and his EKA is different, but the procedure is the same. The EKA on our NAS vehicles is often 1515, so you could try that.

interesting. I’ll give this a shot.

Is the EKA code the same as what’s in the manual? I’ve used a 4 digit code to unlock my radio before - wondering if it’s the same as that…

Immobilizer normally allows engine to spin, just not fire. When did the problem start? What were the symptoms? Have you jumped the starter relay to make sure the starter circuit works?

Started maybe 3 months ago. The car was struggling to turn over easily. I initially thought it was a battery issue so I switched it out. Then cleaned the lines.

Check engine light popped up soon after. I didn’t pay much attention to it since the call was tuning over okay with the new battery.

Then I started to feel a kinda misfire - was struggling to get power when accelerating. Then kaput - stopped turning over entirely.

Toed it to the local shop to get the starter motor replaced but still not luck. Just need it to turn over so that I can check combustion and fuel pump (assuming the starter motor wasn’t the issue)…

I agree, not really sounding like an immobilizer issue.
Did the shop you had it towed to read the fault code associated with the check engine light?

Yeah, you have an issue in the starter circuit, not immobilizer. Try jumping the starter relay first. If it spins your problem is upstream, if it does not your problem is downstream.
