It appears that I have moved to a bit of a Disco desert. I was hoping to pick another one up for a winter driver. My one Disco that is setup for overloading won’t fit in my work parking garage unfortunately.

Was hoping to find a stock (or stock-ish) example. Don’t mind mechanical work so long as it’s in good cosmetic condition.

Other places I’ve lived it always seemed like there were a few around. Here - not so much.

 

Check with Will Tillery, he occasionally has one in decent shape to sell whole.

I think he was looking for for one a little less "fully restored". Mine comes with a warranty of course and is fully sorted, best paint I have ever seen on a Disco.

 

Check the Atlanta and Charlotte area Craigslist. It's a bit of a drive but they are big cities far from the coast and salted winter roads.

Go north for boat purchases and south for vehicles.

Resell in the opposite direction

Yes agreed. I'd really rather not do a long drive if I can find something around here though.

I also have a project Monte Carlo blue Disco that is in Florida that I was planning on rebuilding next summer. I'm starting to think if I can't find another Disco up here that maybe I should just have the engine swapped with known good one and use that for my winter driver.

 

I have an 04 in Orange, VA I may sell. It does have a rack, OME lift, 32’s though. I can dig up a stack of receipts work done to it by previous owner.
