This set up looks great! I see you added some lights up front, did you use the Frontrunner mounts? Do you have a photo head on that you can share? Thanks!
Here you go and appreciate it. Yes I did use the front runner mounts but had to add a 2” extension to move them forward to get enough space from the roof.
Awesome, that was the view I was looking for, thank you. I have the same color and I have to say it looks great with a bit of tint on it.
I like the clean look of this rack and think I am going to go for it. Mounting the lights up top was my only curiosity but luckily I have a few sets in different sizes to play with.
Any chance someone knows the dimensions of the slats? I can only find the length but I’m looking for the width of a slat from front to rear to see if my rtt mounts will work.
edit: My rack arrived so I was able to measure myself. The slats are 3.5 inches in case someone else is looking for the measurement.
I just got my Slimline II rack from Front Runner installed this weekend and I also went the extra slat & pair of legs route. Very happy I did so! Thanks to all in this thread for that tip, it does look better and will give a bit more of a solid mount to the roof.
Install went smoothly, but unfortunately they forget an M8 bolt for the rack and then a nut for one of the bicycle mounts I bought with it, so I had to run to the hardware store a couple times during install. Otherwise went smoothly. And a tip for those in the future, I spaced the legs 58 3/4" apart (added a photo) for the back three legs and 58 1/2" apart for the front legs, and it fit perfectly in the gutters. The gutters on the D2 taper slightly inward towards the front of the car. I've read elsewhere online that people estimate the width between the gutters are between 1485-1500mm and I used that as a guide.
And in case anyone is curious, I ordered on a Monday and got it delivered on Thursday (CA to AZ). Had to call their sales line a couple times though to get a hold of someone to order the custom parts.
