To the OP,
I have the exact set that you posted on my 99 d2. It had 308,000 miles when I bought it and some horrible frame rot so I didn't feel like dumping much money into a truck that was already knocking on deaths door. 4k miles and it is OK, no issues, not amazing performance but considering that both my cars are half the weight and have much larger brakes, I don't think any brake pads and rotor combo would feel too impressive.

I'm truly liking this combo with new steel braided brake lines for complete stopping ability on my '01Disco:
- EBC GD Sport Drilled & Slotted Rear Rotors #GD957 ($155) & front rotors #GD994 ($185)
- Akebono ceramic rear brake pads #ACT493 ($40.44) & front brake pads #EUR676 ($71.65)

All brake pads will make dust. Semi-Metallic makes a lot of dark/thick dust and I don't know how many LR's I've seen with brake pad dust burnt into the paint on the rims. Ceramic brake pads still make dust, but it's very faint, and easier to remove.

After using the $$$ stuff and getting the same life out of it vs the Power Stop stuff I'll stick with the Power Stop.

I would have to say that the Akebono Ceramics I put on my other Disco 3 years ago, make no noticeable brake dust,.....and when I recently pulled a wheel,....they looked like new,.......and that was after a year of daily commuting 120 miles. I will be curious to see how these Brake Motive pads and rotors work out.
