So I’m pretty sure I have a window regulator that has tanked, and I was thinking this might be solution. The window goes down just fine, but won’t go back up unless I pull the panel and kinda reach in there and help it go up.

I’ve not fully removed the door panel to inspect, but I suspect it is the roller(s).

Any thoughts?

probably a cracked roller.....the replacement regulator mechanism is inexpensive...

I use the shapeways parts, they work great.

 

I thought I’d do the Dorman one? It’s $66.

 

I got a used one from Jordan haha but it's been working fine for a few years now..

 

He’s where I got the dash. But at well under $100, worth it to buy new I think.

 

What adhesive or cement do you use for the Shapeways rollers? I tried them twice a few years ago but they came apart after a while. I don't now recall what adhesives I used, but in the end I just ordered a new regulator.

 

Yeah, it’s kinda like the door lock actuator. Yes, you can rebuild it, but in the end it’s just easier to replace the part. Yes, it’s lazy in some regards, but at this point, I’m using it a lot and just want things to work. If the original worked for ~20 years, I’m good with that.

Plus, unlike the door lock actuator, a a window regulator is pretty cheap.
