My luck of not having to deal with a window regulator just ran out.

So here is my question.

Can new rollers be installed while the actuator is still attached to the door and the window is still attached to the actuator?

If I need to replace the rollers by removing the actuator completely I will replace the entire unit.

Thanks,

no. you can't install new rollers with mechanism in the door. it is easier to get a britpart mechanism for 40$ and install the whole unit, rather than finding correct rollers and a strong way to mount them....they are pressed pins, and sometimes spot welded...

EDIT: Correction to above: Cost has gone up on Britpart since december ! it's now ~60-70$...depending on vendor....

Yes, can be done with the shapeways parts but I find removing the actuator almost as easy. The $40 price is a pretty good price though for a complete unit,
