Default Anyone in Tulsa with spare oil pump or good shop?

Dropping my daughter off at school and the oil light came on and the engine is knocking.

I'm going to try an oil change tomorrow but not hopeful.

Hopefully you will be back on the road soon. Such a great vehicle for moving students into dorm rooms.

Thanks. we actually caravan'ed two '04 D2's down. the best part was that TU had students on hand to unload and carry everything up to the dorm. we may be taking my daughter's D2 home with us and picking up mine Labor Day weekend. not what i had planned for the holiday but guess things could be worse.

the shop i have it at is close to some good coffee shops and restaurants, so WiFi has been available and allowed me to work.

I am in St Louis, myself. Shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to lend a hand on Rover projects!

I've run all the way up to 20w50 to buy time on an engine while rebuilding another transplant. Oil pump can be changed in a day if you've done it a few times.

No better vehicle to move a college student. Case in point, (my daughter) "dad, my fridge stands straight up in the Discovery so I don't have to wait 24 hours to plug it back in!" Win!

my wife and i made it back to StL. we took our daughter's D2, which ran great and almost got 16 mpg. i do like the little bit of extra power in 4.6 but, dang, do they suck down the fuel.

the shop i left my truck at is doing the oil pump, front cover and timing chain. i should know today whether that fixes the pressure issue.
