Hey guys, just got this single din head unit from aliexpress for like 178$, its amazing, Apple CarPlay works smoothly, backup camera is good, most importantly the steering wheel controls work too, with a little expert help, there is a youtube video that explains it i will link it down below, hope you guys like it

When you did this great looking conversion did you have to disable the CD changer under the passenger seat? Also, did your Disco have the Harmon Kardon system?
No mine doesn’t have the harmon kardon system, for the HK system you have 3 plugs, the extra one is for the rear seat remote control i guess, but normally other discos have 2 plugs only, grey and yellow, they are called ISO i guess, a harness came with the head unit that you plug these two into, and then the harness plugs into the head unit, then it works, then you will have to wire up the steering wheel controls.

yes its totally fine but to be honest i would recommend a bigger one, the screen is just too small to use while driving, so would recommend a bigger one

Do you have a photo of how it looks in your car? Maybe with maps/directions open?

I hear ya, my issue with it though is I want the look to feel OEM. I can't stand the floating screens that everyone else has and that is one of the only models that seems to fit without altering the dash.
