Default ARB bumper 99 to 02 versus 03 to 04

Hi all.

Regarding the ARB bull bar bumper, I have a 2000 Discovery II and, as I understand it, I can get either version of the bumper if I am just willing to trim the bottom of my grill (no problem).

Couple of questions:

Do the bumpers attach to my existing crush cans or the frame horns? My crush cans are a little deformed from low speed impact and I'd like to pull them out.

Is there an advantage to the older or newer version?

Thanks,

Charlie V

Mounts direct to frame, does not use stock crush cans.

03'/04' model has round cut outs for the 03'/04' fog lights.

I'm in the market for a bumper myself. I like the way the ARB bumpers look. Where's the cheapest place online to get one?

Right now I think eBay. 10 percent off up to 100 dollars savings. And free shipping for the ones I see.

I have teetered between ARB and TJM, and decided on ARB because of the strength of the towers that had the brush guard. They are close to the same price (about 1100). TJM is cheaper for me but I either have to go get it or pay shipping. The ARB is free shipping.

Also, I read built the twisting issue and I think that's been resolved. Disco Mike has great photos that a fab shop could use to make you an even better one. But I can't get a fab shop to do it.

That's what I need to know. So I can take all of my old crap off and put new on the frame horns. Happy day. Thanks!

My fog lights are the rectangles. One of them is cracked, so I'm going to get new anyway.

The mounts for the 03-04 style arb are stronger too.

Does it use the OEM 03-04 fogs or are they ARB fogs? I've heard conflicting reports on that.

It uses the oem fogs. D2, LR3, and maybe some RR use the same so they should be pretty easy to come by.

Though I bought new ones for mine, because sometimes the used price wasn't much cheaper.

Good to know, I scored a pair of new ones off ebay for my stock bumper when I bought the truck, would be nice to be able to reuse them.

Don't forget, if you get the 03-04 style you will not have any recovery points. You should get the 99-02 style.
